Guitar/Banjo #1123

Luxuriously soft vintage leather visually steeped in history. This one could be the poster child for “Why Vintage Leather?” The deeply curved shoulder piece favors the right shoulder of a left handed player and would work best with the strap attached to a heel button on an acoustic guitar or the bracket bolts of a banjo. This one’s a dandy.

Shoulder Piece Size 12" long by 2 1/2" wide where it will cross your shoulder and tapering to 1 3/4" at the back end.
Shoulder Piece Leather Amazingly soft and supple vintage leather. It doesn’t get any better than this.
Shoulder Piece Stitching Artificial sinew hand sewn into hand punched needle holes.
Shoulder Piece Distressed Level Medium/high. An old and genuine vintage character. Aged darkened with some surface checking but overall the leather is still in great shape.
Shoulder Piece Notables I hand cut and shaped the shoulder piece from an old saddle fender which is a leather shield protecting the cowboy’s leg from sagebrush and thorns. The curved shape favors the right shoulder of a left handed player. Lined on the bottom with new suede leather.
Strap Style Western Rein
Strap Width 3/4"
Strap Leather Beautiful top shelf vintage leather, totally broken in to a butter softness. Skived slightly to level out the thickness to 3/16”. Original hand dressed and burnished top edges. I also dressed and burnished the new bottom edges and slicked the bottom smooth.
Strap Distressed Level Medium/high. No checking or serious battle scars – just a handsome dark oil western rein strap with a nice vintage character mirroring the shoulder piece.
Strap Notables The rein is locked snug in the strap slots and the strap guide fits it tight. The shoulder piece will stay anchored in place unless intentionally moved.
