Guitar/Banjo #1132

This handsome and comfortable workhorse of a strap would do a great job on any of the larger acoustics or heavy banjos. The pronounced curved shape favors the left shoulder of a right handed player and I recommend that it be attached to a heel button on a guitar or the bracket bolts of a banjo.

Shoulder Piece Size 12" long by 2 1/2" wide where it will cross your shoulder, tapering to 1 3/4” on the tail end.
Shoulder Piece Leather The curved shape was cut from the best part of a large saddle girth strap which had been hand stamped with a traditional basket-weave pattern. The leather is supple yet firm enough to support a heavy electric guitar if necessary.
Shoulder Piece Stitching Artificial sinew hand sewn into hand punched needle holes.
Shoulder Piece Distressed Level Medium with no aesthetic issues.
Shoulder Piece Notables The hand cut and shaped strap slots grip the rein strap tight and the shoulder piece will not move without intentional help. Lined with new suede leather.
Strap Style Western Rein
Strap Width 5/8"
Strap Leather Excellent quality harness leather, well broken in. Soft and supple with hand dressed and burnished edges and slicked smooth on the bottom. This one was made by Schutz Brothers – one of the cowboys favorite tack makers – and I used the Maker Mark on the rein for the strap guide.
Strap Distressed Level Medium. Well used with some color shading, no issues worth mentioning, and still brutally strong.
Strap Notables The strap guide keeps the rein strap centered on the curved shape. I skived the original thickness down a bit, then dressed and burnished the bottom edges and slicked the back side smooth. Includes a custom fit to your instrument for length and attachment points.
