Shoulder Piece Size 17" long by 2 1/8" wide, tapering slightly towards each end..
Shoulder Piece Leather Old, well used and high mileage tooling leather.
Shoulder Piece Stitching New artificial sinew hand sewn into the original needle holes. Original white vinyl coated pressed leather buckstitching.
Shoulder Piece Distressed Level Very high.. Abundant surface checking and visibly worn buckstitching.
Shoulder Piece Notables The slightly curved shape favors the left shoulder of a right handed player. The original flowering vine hand tooling was skillfully done and still shows good details. Lined on the bottom with new suede leather. Since the shoulder piece does not slide on the rein strap to adjust position I’ll need an additional measurement so I can properly locate the shoulder piece for you.

Strap Width 5/8"
Strap Leather Quite old harness leather that is still supple and solid. Skived to 3/16” in thickness. Dressed and burnished edges and slicked smooth on the bottom.
Strap Distressed Level Very high. Some shallow surface checking and a distressed character that is a perfect match to the shoulder piece.
Strap Notables The full length of the old rein was originally embossed with a barbed wire pattern that is still visible although noticeably worn. A few inches on each end were skived thin enough to make a neat and flexible connection to the shoulder piece and secured with a leather thong. Includes a custom fit for length and attachment points specified by the buyer. Close-up photos available on request.
