Status Available
Shoulder Piece Size 12 1/2” long and 3” wide.
Shoulder Piece Leather Soft and supple harness leather. Excellent quality and well used.. Fully dressed and burnished around the outside edge.
Shoulder Piece Stitching New artificial sinew hand sewn into the original needle holes.
Shoulder Piece Distressed Level Medium. Well used and broken in soft and supple with a noticeable vintage character. No cuts, nicks or surface checking.
Shoulder Piece Notables Slotless shoulder piece. No strap slots are cut into the shoulder piece allowing the full bottom surface area to contact the shoulder. Hand shaped rounded ends and lined wall to wall on the bottom with new suede leather.
Strap Style Western roping rein with hand-twisted braiding. The braiding is 32” long and, when finished, some of the braiding will be visible in front of the shoulder piece and some behind it. The braided section was cut into 5 strips and hand twisted somehow into the braid by the original craftsman. I’m a banjo player and not near smart enough to do this.
Strap Width 1” across the flat sections, 3/4” across the braid.
Strap Leather Excellent quality harness leather with nicely done braiding. Soft, supple and strong. Could easily hold a 50 lb. instrument.
Strap Distressed Level Medium/low. No issues.
Strap Notables The 2 strap guides hold the strap tightly to the shoulder piece and things won’t slide around when in use. Includes a custom fit for length and attachment points. Any buttonholes would be punched directly into the 1” wide strap.
