Thick and butter soft top shelf harness leather. Skived slightly to level out the thickness to 3/16”. Original hand dressed and burnished top edges. I also dressed and burnished the new bottom edges and slicked the back side smooth.

Medium/high. Color shaded and heavily wrinkled. No cuts, nicks, or battle scars – just a handsome vintage character that looks at home on the shoulder piece.

The rein strap is locked snug in the carefully cut and shaped strap slots and the strap guide fits it tight. Once adjusted for position the shoulder piece will not move without intentional help.
