14" long by 3" wide in the middle and tapering to 2 5/8” on each end.. Hand shaped rounded ends and fully dressed and burnished edges. This was an old pulling collar and the curved shape is original and symmetrical and would work equally well for a left or right handed player. If you’re a southpaw, be sure to let me know. Otherwise I’ll set it up to cross the left shoulder for a right handed player.The shape would work fine for either a heel button or headstock attachment. It would do equally well on a banjo but it could be a challenge getting it tucked into the case when attached to a banjo.

Thick and very supple prime western oil tanned harness leather.

Artificial sinew hand sewn into the original needle holes along each side. I added the “V” stitching on each end, which I thought was a much needed detail.

The matching strap guide keeps the rein strap centered on the shoulder piece. The strap guide is made from vintage leather stamped with the Schutz Bros maker mark - one of the cowboys favorite tack makers. Lined on the bottom with new suede leather.

Broken in very soft and supple and top shelf quality. Lightly skived to level out the thickness, with original hand dressed and burnished top edges. I dressed and burnished the bottom edges and slicked it smooth on the back side.

Medium. This one has seen some long days on the range but is in very good condition. Color shading and a general well used character with a couple nicks and scrapes. Spot on match to the shoulder piece.

Wide enough to accept standard buttonholes punched directly into the strap if preferred. Fits snug in the carefully cut and shaped strap slots and the shoulder piece will not move without intentional help. Includes a full set to your specs for length and attachment points.
