Guitar/Banjo #2157

This one is a Tony Rice Style strap – named after the great bluegrass guitarist – and the Dunlop Pick model . Remarkably old leather, heavy duty, and a pure delight on a hot flat picker’s guitar. This one is a vintage relic and would prefer an older full size acoustic or heavy electric.

Shoulder Piece Size No shoulder piece.
Strap Style Cinch Strap
Strap Width 1 1/2"
Strap Leather Extremely tough and strong Latigo Leather. Originally this was the strap that held the saddle and accompanying rider firmly on the horse’s back. Over many years it has been tugged and pulled as tightly as possible transforming it into a beautiful piece of old leather that’s full of character. It’s unskived at the original thickness (about 3/16”) and the backside has been worn smooth. It would look best attached to a front button on a well played instrument.
Strap Distressed Level Medium/high.
Strap Notables Stitched just above where a heel button hole would be located is an oversize leather Dunlop shaped guitar pick. Includes a custom set up to the buyers specs for length and attachment points. The original 8 buckle holes start 12” above the leather pick and are spaced about 4 1/2” apart. No problem, working around them with the end buttonholes. Additional photos showing close details and a shot of the entire strap sent on request.
