Shoulder Piece Size |
15" long by 3 1/2" wide where it will cross your shoulder, tapering slightly towards each end.. Hand shaped ends and fully dressed and burnished edges. The curved shape is symmetrical and would work equally well for a left or right handed player. The shape and size would best benefit an electric or bass guitar. It would probably be overkill on an acoustic and it would never fit into the case attached to a banjo.

Shoulder Piece Leather |
Real nice leather and broken in soft and supple. This was the main part of a heavy duty equestrian pulling collar that likely could have been used by one of the Budweiser Clydesdales.
|
Shoulder Piece Stitching |
Artificial sinew hand sewn into my hand punched needle holes. I added the edge stitching which I thought was a much needed detail.
|
Shoulder Piece Distressed Level |
Medium/low. It’s seen some use but certainly not abuse.

Shoulder Piece Notables |
Fully lined on the bottom with new suede leather. Well done Flowering Vine hand tooling. Email me if you’d like some closer photos. Since the shoulder piece doesn’t slide on the strap to adjust position I’ll also need an additional measurement to properly locate it for you.

Strap Leather |
Rock solid harness leather and a great match to the shoulder piece. Lightly skived to level out the thickness, with original hand dressed and burnished top edges. I dressed and burnished the bottom edges and slicked it smooth on the back side.
|
Strap Distressed Level |
Medium/low. This one has also seen some action. Other than some light surface wrinkles the full length, it’s in great shape.
|
Strap Notables |
A few inches on each were skived thin enough to make a neat and flexible connection to the shoulder piece and securely fastened with two rows of double stitched sinew.
