Hand cut and shaped from a larger piece of vintage harness leather. Hand dressed and burnished edges and lined wall to wall with new suede on the bottom. Slotless shoulder piece is held firmly to the rein strap with 2 strap guides made with vintage leather. This allows the full surface area of the shoulder piece to contact your shoulder.

Western roping rein with a 3 strand hand twisted braid. The braided section was done by the original craftsman. I’m a banjo player and could never figure out how to do it. The braided section is 24” long and, when finished, the braid will extend beyond both the front and back end of the shoulder piece.

The rein strap fits snug in the strap guides and, once adjusted for position, the shoulder piece will not move without intentional help. Buttonholes could be punched directly into the 3/4“ wide strap if preferred instead of the wider button tabs.
