| Shoulder Piece Leather |
The finest prime western harness leather. Broken in butter soft and plenty thick to shoulder a load. There originally was a small strap fastened with a rivet to the center of the shoulder piece. I removed the rivet and eliminated the hole with a matching leather plug which is hidden by the 3/4“ wide cross strap. I’ll send a photo if you’d like to see the alteration.

Artificial sinew hand sewn into my hand punched needle holes. The oiled leather buckstitching was worked thru hand punched diagonal slits.

Medium. Definitely looks and feels like a well used piece.

Hand shaped with dressed and burnished edges. The snug fitting strap guides keep the shoulder piece from sliding on the strap unless it is intentionally moved. Fully lined on the bottom with new suede leather.

Top shelf and butter soft harness leather. Heavy duty and skived to 3/16“. Looks and feels like the same leather as the shoulder piece.

Hand dressed and burnished edges and slicked smooth on the bottom. Fits tight in the hand cut and shaped strap slots and the strap will not slide thru the shoulder piece while in use.
